Pickup and off-road driving enthusiasts have a number of options when it comes to the Ford F-150 including FX4 Off-Road and Tremor packages and of course the fearsome F-150 Raptor. The company feels the need to add one more.
Meet the 2023 F-150 Rattler, a new entry-level model with a slightly more adventurous look, standard four-wheel drive and increased off-road capability.
“This truck builds off the F-150 off-road legacy while allowing us to introduce new customers to the right blend of styling and value in the F-150 lineup,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager.
The Rattler package, available with the base F-150 XL series, features some of the FX4 Off-Road content such as an electronic rear-locking differential, skid plates, hill descent control and specially tuned off-road shock absorbers.
It then adds all-terrain tires, dual exhaust system and painted 18-inch aluminum wheels. Styling is enhanced with F-150 Rattler badging on the fender vents and rattlesnake-inspired graphics on the bed sides.
Finally, Onyx Black seats featuring burnished bronze accents and premium stitching match the trim on the instrument panel to create a unique interior in keeping with the desert-inspired theme.
The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler goes on sale this fall. Pricing has yet to be announced, but it will cost slightly less than the FX4 Off-Road package.
