Ford's most powerful van was completely renewed last year. But why not make things better when you can? That's exactly what Ford has done, offering the Ford Super Duty 2024 a few small improvements that make it an even more efficient truck.
These updates don't change the face of the Super Duty. They do, however, further improve a vehicle that was a clear favourite in its class. So, let's see what the Ford Super Duty 2024 has to offer!
The Ford Super Duty 2024 benefits from some notable technological improvements. XLT models equipped with the Premium Package, as well as Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited versions, now benefit from a year's worth of connected navigation services.
In addition, XL and XLT models offer the optional on-board weighing function with an intelligent hitch. Programmed engine idle shutdown (86K) is now available as an option for XL and XLT versions.
The 2024 Super Duty retains many of the same engine options as the previous year. However, there is one notable addition: the new 6.8-litre V8 now offers flex-fuel capability for "full pickups." This means that body-equipped Super Duty models (with the exception of chassis-cab models) can run on both regular gasoline and E85 fuel.
While simple, this improvement offers better fuel consumption and less polluting emissions. However, this type of fuel is not available everywhere.
Highlights of trim levels
The base XL version is equipped with the standard 6.8-liter V8 gasoline engine. The addition of the STX package offers the option of upgrading to the 7.3-liter Godzilla V8. The XL is the only Super Duty available with rear-wheel drive.
It offers a basic work truck configuration, with a black grille, door handles and bumpers, as well as vinyl flooring and cloth seats. The XL is also equipped with an 8-inch infotainment screen working with SYNC 4.
The XLT version offers several upgrades over the XL, including four-wheel drive and the standard 7.3-liter Godzilla V8. It features a chrome grille and bumpers, fog lights, larger painted cast-aluminum wheels, carpeting and a five-speaker AM/FM stereo system.
Positioned as the entry-level luxury trim, the Lariat adds features such as running boards, bright chrome grille, body-coloured door handles, LED box lighting, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlights, remote tailgate release, upgraded wheels, dual-zone climate control, leather seats and a 12-inch SYNC 4 screen.
Leather toughness
Forget all these features and complex components. Just a reminder that since 2023, Ford's Super Duty has been available with a high-output 6.7-litre V8 diesel engine that makes it even more powerful.
With a load capacity of 8,000 pounds, and a towing capacity of 30,000 pounds (40,000 pounds for fifth-wheel trailers on certain versions), the Ford Super Duty 2024 is more than ever the work tool you need.
